Stars on Sunday

Hi everyone

I've got together a couple of wonderful prints from the amazingly talented illustrator and print maker James Brown of General Pattern.

His style has been an inspiration for my new collection of prints. The first of which is "You're a Star".

I first came across his work in London last year when I made a dash into Liberty's to see what wonderful patterned fabrics Liberty's had in store.

In their furnishings and living department I came across James' screen prints hanging on the wall - what particularly caught my eye is his talent for capturing the style and character of old styles of posters.

Here's some of his other works which really elaborate on vintage typography and poster illustration.

Take a look here

Have a great weekend.

Typography Prints with hints and love

G'day everyone

I don't know about you but I've been taken with the fever of word art recently and have added these prints to my empressionista's store. I was thinking about giving them a more decorative and colourful embellishment but thought better to leave clear and clean.

They are as follows:
They are all from Winnie the Pooh.

I need to put this one up in my office.
Have a great day!

New additions to my Made it shop

Hi friends everywhere

Hope you've all had a fabulous weekend.

It's time to hang up those soccer and footy boots as the winter sports season is coming to an end here in Oz.

Outside is beginning to feel a lot like Spring; the wisteria is in bud and it won't be long until long garlands of lilac blooms will be hanging over the garden fence.

With Father's day just a couple of weeks away it's time to think about rewarding that great Dad and show some Love.

As with all my items, they're created with a huge dollop of humour and a smile to share - here for the Dad's of Australia ... the first of a few prints of lovable quotes.

This quote is from Winnie the Pooh with red, green and pale blue versions available. The word ear even contains a squiggle of fluff. Out now in my shop.

What do you think?

Boat Show Finds

Hi everyone

I had a great Sunday out at the Sydney International Boat Show, 2011. The sun was shining and people were out in droves - flags flying and bands playing melodic tunes whilst shoes were left eagerly on the pontoons and jetties before boarding some of the most anticipated new nautical designs from leading luxury yacht manufacturers.

I got the opportunity to see, touch, and experience the larger boats moored in Cockle Bay at Darling Harbour.

It's a very different exhibition from the Boat Show at Earls Court in London where there is somewhat of a limit to the number of watercraft; mainly as it's set inside and under cover.

Sydney's Boat Show brings together the largest collection of boats, yachts, and super yachts in the Southern hemisphere. There isn't a boat too humble from the kayaks and tinnies, to canoes, skiboats, bow riders, family sailing boats, catamarans, houseboats right throught to palatial cruisers, big and small there's a vessel to suit your budget and your inclination.

There's not a better place to herald the idea of messing about on the water that Sydney Harbour and many a dreamer this weekend will have started a new love affair.

Here's the opportunity for you to set your sights on new horizons..
