In contrast to the post I made a couple of days ago of underwater from Vanuatu, take a look at this video which is taken as time lapse from the International Space Station. Truly spectacular particularly as we are really not so far away from each other at all on this little planet.

Stars on Sunday
Hi everyone
I've got together a couple of wonderful prints from the amazingly talented illustrator and print maker James Brown of General Pattern.
His style has been an inspiration for my new collection of prints. The first of which is "You're a Star".
I first came across his work in London last year when I made a dash into Liberty's to see what wonderful patterned fabrics Liberty's had in store.
In their furnishings and living department I came across James' screen prints hanging on the wall - what particularly caught my eye is his talent for capturing the style and character of old styles of posters.
Here's some of his other works which really elaborate on vintage typography and poster illustration.

Typography Prints with hints and love
G'day everyone
I don't know about you but I've been taken with the fever of word art recently and have added these prints to my empressionista's store. I was thinking about giving them a more decorative and colourful embellishment but thought better to leave clear and clean.

A Brit Fix and the Royal Wedding
My Brit fix comes about through Royal visits and climactical influences. Prince William is in Australia's top end; Cairns and is visiting the recently devastated flood affected areas of Queensland.
Meanwhile in Sydney, yesterdays evening rain turned from a downpour to a deluge. Rain tanks are filled, swimming pools overflowing and dogs drenched, our dog loves it really. Royal Wedding fever is gearing up to the big event and has created another wave of Brit LUV.
For a long time I've enjoyed Ann Carringtons beautiful work. A vast number of mother of Pearl and abalone shells go to make these magnificent art collages. Commissioned for the Queen's 80th birthday the coronation crown is available as a limited edition print. Ann has undertaken many works using everyday items.
I first saw her works via sixxdesign.com The Novogratz's: Courtney and Robert are design gurus extraordinaire, flipping houses in Downtown New York to uptown in the Hamptons. Their style grabs from industrial and retro eras. Ann's First Class stamp, featured over their vanity, has left an imprint on me forever.
A London vista wouldn't be complete without Tower Bridge, such a fab sight, depicted in many a movie. I've heard of people sleeping under bridges and now I think I might also like to. Available from blissliving they've got some sumptuous items.
Have you ever been caught in a shower at Big Ben? Shower curtain from Bed Bath and Beyond.
You see to a Brit, bathrooms and thrones go together. Just cannot get enough of the Union Jack chair a very nice addition to add colour.
This engraving by Gustave Dore has adorned my websites home page for the last 9 months, though I've recently taken it down, it's still one of my favourite depictions of London.
The Naked Decor British Invasion clock is from CSN stores.
My dog SB (Sapphire blue) just has to get one of these Union Jack Dog beds.
That's where the Brit fix closes today and heads back downunder with an Australian favourite phrase. True blue is for all Aussies, for boys, for men and wanna be's. This would be soo cute in a little boys room. To get your hands on my new print head over to my shop

Eternity is still scrawled across the streets of Sydney to this day by Sydneysiders and lives in our hearts. It also heralded a New Year emblazened across Sydney Harbour Bridge in fireworks one New Years Eve celebrations.

Vintage and White Floors
Back in the blogosphere and with a couple of inspiring interiors to get your springtime off to a jumpstart. I love searching for inspiration and am loving the vintage pieces here. The colonial windows are a great backdrop.
Standard lamps are back, just found in 2nd hand shops and painted a chalky white, dress it up with a stylish retro fabric shade. Shall get my paint out next and try this at home.
Home pictures in large white mattes and chalky white frames set above one another are just fine here. You can get free software online to create vintage effects and run your images through their series of actions to achieve an aged and interesting style.
This trolley table reminds me of one my family had when I was little very vintage. My son's school is undergoing renovations and I saw a couple of school trolleys with the large wheels in a skip. They would look great in an industrial style interior. Schools across Australia are benefitting from government grants for renovations and it would appear they are throwing out alot of what would be considered junk. So with many of you liking the industrial style that is so inner city, just check out your suburban schools for special finds.
Cloches are so making a comeback, atop a cupboard, awaiting use. Try them with fairly lights inside. A flower sculpture or feathers. Vintage papers cut and displayed are fun too under a cloche.
The risers on the staircase have been painted white. Must remember to put that on my to do list. My stairs are a bit worn and could do with smartening up.
Theres a very sweet white wooden shelf that looks well placed amongst all the assembled white frames with black and white pictures. For more info and photography techie advice visit kaseybuick.com she's apt at apertures and has a wonderful blog.
A novel use for a nursery seed box, planter box or... is it a green grocers fruit box.! is to set several vertically for a well placed shelf. I'm always dumping items on the steps as a reminder to take things up or down to their designated spots.
The assembled frames white or otherwise has such appeal.
Maybe considering doing something with your bathroom, it can cost a fortune. But just add a few items like replacement fawcets / taps and matching towel rail and glass shelf brackets and you have the fundamentals of a quick spruce up.
What caught my eye, was the bench used as a coffee table, I have one up in my dining area. It frequently gets placed in the lounge as a book table, has been used one side of the dining table as bench seating and now sits in the sun next to colonial windows with my black linen cushions on it. There's a use for that old school industrial trolley, painted and then sanded back to give it some character.
Am loving the french boudoir chair / dining chair, with it's closely set button upholstery. Am off to the garage where half my beautiful old furniture sits. There's an armoire being used as storage for life jackets and camping gear. It's coming straight back in to my dining area. I'll give it a primp (will have to clean it up) and bring it back to life for some household prettiness.
